Arsenal striker Theo Walcott and his wife Melanie welcomed their first child together on Thursday morning (April 10, 2014). The England football player, who will definitely not be in Brazil for the 2014 World Cup due to a knee injury, shared the happy news via his Facebook account. "So over the moon to announce the birth of our baby boy Finley born this morning… It's amazing to be mummy & daddy! Love him so much x."
Theo Walcott met his wife Melanie at the WestQuay shopping centre in Southampton in 2004, when they were just 15. At the time, the injured Arsenal and England forward was playing for the town's youth team while the physiotherapist was a schoolgirl. The couple dated for seven years before getting engaged at their Hertfordshire home on New Year's Eve in 2011. They finally got married at Castello di Vincigliata, near Florence in Italy in June 2013 and announced they were expecting their baby boy in December of the same year. "Me & Mel are happy to confirm we are expecting our first child, which is due early next summer. We are both very excited at such happy news just a few months after getting married,” Theo Walcott said when he found his partner Melanie was pregnant. "We are really looking forward to becoming parents."
