Janna Little Ryan, wife of the newly named Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan, grew up in a family deeply rooted in Democratic politics in the small town of Madill, Oklahoma near the Texas border. Both of her parents spent their careers as successful lawyers in private practice. Her father Dan Little, who used to be a member of the University of Oklahoma board, is chairman of the Oklahoma School of Mathematics and Sciences Board of Trustees. Now he is an attorney and still works at the law firm Reuel Little started in 1927. Meanwhile, her late mother was a former chairman of the Oklahoma University Foundation as well as one of the first members of the state's ethics commission. Her uncle David Boren was the former Democratic governor of Oklahoma, then went on to serve in the Senate while Dan Boren, Janna Ryan’s first cousin, currently represents Oklahoma as a Democrat in the House of Representatives.
Paul Ryan’s wife Janna Ryan is a Washington veteran after years working as an attorney, lobbyist and legislative staffer. Now she is mother to Ryan’s three adorable children: Liza, 10; Charlie, 8; and Sam, 7. They live in Janesville, Wisconsin, her husband’s hometown.
Paul Ryan’s spouse was also well-educated. The mother-of-three attended the exclusive Camp Waldemar school in Hunt, Texas. She then headed off to Wellesley College just outside Boston, where she studied Spanish. After graduation, Janna found her way to Washington, D.C., to be educated at George Washington University and eventually got a job at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Arlington, Va.

Janna Ryan, who inherits a trust fund worth millions after her mother passed away from melanoma in 2010, looks proud and happy with her husband and children.
Recently, the homemaker and stay-at-home mother conducted her first interview describing her husband’s work style and personal habits on Sunday (August 12, 2012) since her husband was announced as a vice president. “You know, he’s pretty low-maintenance. Paul is someone who goes with the flow and has one of the sunniest demeanors and most positive outlooks of anyone I’ve ever met,” said Janna. “ So I’d say Mitt’ll probably have a lot of fun with him.”
